Job title: Associate, Risk Management

Direct report: Head, Risk Management & Compliance

Job purpose:

The successful candidate shall be responsible for ensuring successful implementation of the Company’s enterprise risk management framework. The job role involves identifying and evaluating balance sheet and marketing making risks. and determining preventive measures and internal controls aimed at avoiding, reducing or transferring risks.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate changes to the Risk Management Framework, Risk Register, and Risk Appetite Statement
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and create actionable risk treatment plans, either through a team of risk management experts or personally
  • Work with the Risk Champions in the various business units to ensure identified risks are assessed and captured in the risk registers
  • Monitor and manage balance sheet, market-making risks as well as other enterprise-wide risks to ensure compliance within internal risk limits and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct stress testing, scenario analysis and backtesting of risk models to evaluate potential risks
  • Develop and manage oversight of the incident management process and ensure that business units are reporting significant risk events
  • Perform any additional task as required by the role

• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise risk management principles and practices
• Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, organizational and conflict management skills
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills and ability to pay strong attention to detail

Education/Qualification:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Risk Management Role
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Certification in Risk Management
  • Membership of a Recognised Professional Body
