Job title: Data Scientist (National Service Personnel)

Direct report: Portfolio Manager

Job purpose:

The successful candidate should be a highly analytical and driven individual who is eager to apply their data analysis skills in the financial sector.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the investing team to analyze market trends and portfolio performance.
  • Develop and maintain a Data Warehouse and Data Lake to aggregate diverse financial data sources.
  • Design and implement dashboards and reporting tools for portfolio managers to monitor and analyze asset allocation.
  • Apply machine learning models to predict market movements and identify investment opportunities.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all data storage and reporting platforms.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends in asset management and data science.

Job context:

Required skills or attributes:

  • Strong foundation in data analysis, statistical models, and machine learning algorithms.
  • Proficient in SQL and experience with database management (Data Warehouse, Data Lake).
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex data insights in a clear manner.
  • Interest in finance and investment strategies is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Graduating class 2024 with a pending first-class Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Strong foundation in DataBase principles and practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail in documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
• Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and applying them to improve processes.
