Job title: Rates Analyst

Direct report: Portfolio Manager

Job purpose:

The role requires the successful candidate to operate in a dynamic financial environment, collaborating closely with brokers, internal teams, and the Portfolio Manager.To assist in managing rates portfolios by monitoring economic and market data, performing investment valuations, and liaising with brokers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor local and international economic and market data and report on potential impact on Rates portfolios
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc Rates commentary, data analysis and reports
  • Employ various models and tools for interest rate forecasting and to generate investment ideas
  • Liaise with brokers and internal operations team on all trade execution and settlement issues
  • Perform investment valuations and verify all trade details before settlement
  • Build and manage relationship with brokers/dealers and clients
  • Support Portfolio Manager in daily portfolio management duties

Job profile:

Skills Requirements:

  • Impeccable analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Fundamental understanding of fixed-income instruments and valuations
  • Demonstrate strong computer literacy skills (MS Office applications and other related software)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to network, maintain and develop relationships
  • Team player with the ability to manage their own workload and change priorities
  • Excellent time management skills

 

Qualification:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or any other related field
  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience in a similar role at an investment bank or Asset management firm
  • GISI/CISI qualification a plus
  • CFA or any related qualification is a plus
