  1. What is IC Liquidity Fund?

IC Liquidity Fund (ICLF) is a licensed money market mutual fund that invests primarily in highly liquid assets issued or backed by the Government of Ghana. ICLF seeks to maximize short-term income while ensuring that investors have access to their money when they need it.

 

  1. What is a mutual fund?

A mutual fund is an investment vehicle that pools money from many investors to purchase securities or assets such as stocks, bonds, and short-term debt. Mutual funds are professionally managed by licensed Fund Managers, who select the fund’s assets to produce returns for investors. IC Asset Managers (Ghana) LTD is licensed by the SEC and NPRA in Ghana.

 

  1. What is Fixed Income

It is a type of investment that produces a pre-agreed return by way of interest or coupon payments until its maturity date. An example is a Treasury Bill.

 

  1. Why should I invest in the IC Liquidity Fund?

IC Liquidity Fund improves returns on your cash by investing in liquid assets that generate returns typically higher than traditional bank and call accounts, while you have access to your money within one business day. In addition, by investing in the IC Liquidity Fund, the professional fund manager looks after your portfolio, so you don’t have to make the day-to-day management decisions.

 

  1. What are the risks of investing in the IC Liquidity Fund?

Although the fund will seek to protect investors against downside risks, there are some risks associated with all investments. Returns may not materialize as expected due to fluctuations in the value of the assets and the fund’s performance will be influenced by sentiments in the wider market.

 

  1. What are the fees on the IC Liquidity Fund?

IC Liquidity Fund has no subscription (front load), redemption fees or withdrawal penalties. Over the course of one year, the fee charged on the value of the total fund in percentage terms will not exceed 2.00%. This is made up of 1.50% which covers management fees, 0.25% which covers administration fees and a maximum of 0.25% charged by the fund’s custodians who ensure the safekeeping of the fund’s assets.

 

  1. What is the minimum I can invest in the IC Liquidity Fund?

The minimum investment amount required to open and maintain an account in IC Liquidity Fund is GHS 1.00. You can subscribe electronically, through wealth.ic.africa. Payment can be made by bank transfer, debit/credit card, mobile money, bank deposit or on expressPay.

 

  1. How do I invest in the IC Liquidity Fund?

To invest, first open an account with IC at onboarding.ic.africa. You will need a passport-sized picture and a valid national ID (Passport, Ghana/Ecowas ID Card). Your account will be activated within 24 hours and then you can invest in the fund by going to wealth.ic.africa where you can pay using your debit/credit card or mobile wallet, or also set up a direct debit instruction from your bank.   1. How do I withdraw from the IC Liquidity Fund?

IC Liquidity Fund is designed to provide investors with liquidity. Simply log into your wealth.ic.africa account and select “withdraw”. Your cash will be paid to your bank or mobile wallet details that are associated with your IC account within one business day.

 

  1. What returns or benefits can I expect from investing in the IC Liquidity Fund.

The securities held by the Fund are valued and priced on a daily basis. Consequently, the price of the Fund is updated daily in line with its current market value.

 

  1. How long should I keep my investment in IC Liquidity Fund?

You decide. IC Liquidity Fund is an open-ended mutual fund which means there is no definite timeline for an investor to exit the fund. There are also no penalties for disinvesting.
